About

THE FOUNDER
My name is Ashleigh Lopes. I am the lady pilot behind the Aviatrix Career Guide. My interest in aviation started before I could even say the word airplane. At six-years-old, my father put my brother and I in a bright yellow J3 Cub with his best friend. It was a hot summer day, so we left the door open in that little yellow plane. My brother was terrified to sit next to the open door, so I did. It was a short flight, but from that moment on, I knew I was going to fly.

I received my pilot's license in 2013, but my education has pulled me away from a career in flight. However, I continue to believe in and encourage women to pursue their passions in aviation. I have been fortunate to work with and befriend many other lady pilots. I hope to share their stories to inspire women around the world to make their dreams fly.

The Aviatrix Career Guide was built for women who love aviation, not just women who want to fly. The most wonderful, often forgotten thing about aviation is that the career opportunities are not just limited to flight. If you are fascinated by the world of flight and want to spend your life engrossed in it, this is the page for you.

Happy Trails!
